Once all the pegs have been placed, the players take turns moving one of their pegs to an adjacent open spot. A peg may not be taken from an existing Mill unless there is no other option. Something cool about Nine Men's Morris is that it is extremely portable. Note: something i forgot to mention about Nine Men's Morris is that you cannot take pieces part of a mill from the board unless there are no other available pieces to take. My personal favorite is Nine Penny Marl because it shows how the game can be played with pennies. The main game mechanic of Nine Men's Morris is building mills. Pieces can only be placed on and moved to empty intersections and corners on the board.
